DIVORCE COURT. Wellington, Sept. 2. In the Wellington Divorce Court a decree nisi was granted in the suit Nye v. Nye, wife’s petition, on the grounds of refusal to cohabit. The parties came from Foxton. FIRES. Nelson, September 2. News is to hand that the Church of England parsonage at Brightwater, occupied by the Rev. W. E. Baker, was burnt to the ground on Tuesday night. DETAINING MAIL MATTER. Auckland, September 2. At the Supreme Court a lettercarrier, named Malcolm K. Law, pleaded guilty to detaining mail matter. He was ordered to pay a fine of £lO and costs. The offence was admitted, no, criminal intent being shown.
