A Sensational Case.
There was a somewhat sensatiohal ending to a case in Wanganui yesterday, in which a man was charged with supplying liquor to two Maori women. The latter swore the defendanfc, under a threat, compelledthem to drink and then abused them. The evidence of the defendant was that they helped themselves to the liquor in his absence, and when he tried to take it they, assisted by gone of their husbands, severely handled him, tied him up and sent for a policeman. The Magistrate, Mr Kettle, dismissed the information and indicated there had been gross perjury by*tbe native witnesses.
