Mount View Asylum.

Mr Ell, Mf1.8., who is one ol the first of the members of the haw Per* liament to arrive in Wellington* said a visit to the Mount View Asylum in Wellington on Thursday. Mr Ell found the building not in the best condition. Ho also found a certain amount ol overcrowding, and there appears to be a necessity for a further ward or building in Which to receive new patients. I understand that later in the day he called upon the Minister for Public Works (Mr Hall- ' Jones) and brought the matter under his notice. It is understood that the Government have decided to build additions to each of the principal asylums, so that patients may be more satisfactorily dealt with.
