Smallpox in a Hospital.
There have been several eases of supposed measles io the hospital at Launceston, Tasmania, lately. On the 6th instant a patient named Duggan died. A nurse named Cash subsequently developed symptoms, and died on Monday. The disease has now been dtag nosed as smallpox. Two porters, another nurse, and a laundress at the hospital were also attacked, but are now convalescent. Three other eases are reported io different parts of the town. The outbreak has caused consternation. The doctors arc much blamed (or failing either to diagnose the complaint earlier, or for keeping the nature of tbs disease concealed. The source of the outbreak Is a mystery, A passenger by the steamer Gracchus has been in town for several weeks, but he daily reported himself to the doctors, who failed to discover any auspicious symptoms.
