Colonel Cobbe and BrigadierQeneral Manning are due at Datnot —about sixty miles south-east of Bobotle—on the 21st
General Manning's despatches to the 16th have arrived at Bohotle* where a flying column is held in readiness, if reconnoitres indicate that effective co-operation with General Manning is possible.. The Mullah was reported to be at Lesnban, three miles west of Damot, and a party of riflemen on a lone hill to the south and a thousand horsemen were watching General Manning.
Damot was safe on the 16th
It is officially stated that up to the 11th inst. thirty-six of General Manning’s officers and 937 of his men had reached Bohotle.
General Sir Q. Bgerton has been appointed to supreme command of the expedition in Somaliland.
