Tbo monthly meeting was held on Wednesday. Present —Ora J. G. Wilson (chairman), P. Robinson, Thoa. Clark, H. Hammond, G. Kendall. From Mary Edwards, John Burr, and John Smith, asking that Edward's drain be cleaned out from Poxuon towards Shannon.—Left to Or Carter and overseer. From Donald Fraser, requesting Council to clean out drain on Frecklington’s line opposite his property. Ors Masters, Eobinaon and overseer to meet Mr Fraser. • From Treasury, notifying that loan of £585 was available for ex penditure on Kakariki and Gusts’ roads. From M. Sanson, asking that entrance to her place over tram-line be improved. —Or Masters to have matter attended to. From Department of Roads, stating that Minister of Lands would be asked to authorise necessary expenditure on Bulls bridge protective works. The chairman said the last flood hfid out behind four groins and seriously impaired one lower down. As the bridge was not under the control of any local body, he had called attention of Mr Pulton to the matter. The chairman ,of Eangitikei County Council had informed him (the chairman) that he would not be willing for his Council to take over control of the bridge in present condition of protective work*. Prom J. Darragb, claiming 17s 6d for loss ef drum of methylated spirits at tram shed. The Tramway manager reported, among other things that receipts last month had been £195 and expenditure £154 12s. The Treasurer -reported—General account, dr., £758 Os Id; loans, credit, £659 18a 4d. Ridings— Sandoa, dr., £167 6s 8d; Carnarvon, dr., £l2O 18s Id; Kawakawa, dr., £BS 18s Id; Mt. Stewart, or., £45 6s 7d; Waitohi, or., £ll6 5* od; Eongotea, or., £214 14s sd; Awahou, cr , £125 12s 7d. It was resolved to strike a general rata of 8-16 d in the £, a separate rate of l-6d in the Waitohi and Eongotea, l-16d in Carnarvon, l-8d in Mt. Stewart and Kawakawa and id in Awahou. The following tenders were accepted for work on Tompkins’ line ~ R. W. Whisker, £2l7s 6d per chain; Puki Puki rood, M. Boyle, at 12s 6d per chain. It was resolved that the stock inspector’s notice be called to the fact that ragwort is spreading in the County, That Michael Holland be appointed poundkeeper and ranger for the Eongotea riding.
