Murder by a Boy.
Patrick Knowles, a ten-year-old •match seller, haa been remanded at Stockton-on-Tees, Durham, on a charge of decoying and murdering a fifteen-months-old baby. The boy confessed that he dug a hole in the sand, laid the crying baby on its back, lifted its pinafore over Us face, and then covered it with sand arid smothered it while it continued to cry and kick. He afterwards piled bricks and stones over the place. The prisoner was arrested while taking a. second baby to the same ■pot." .
