Atrocities in Macedonia.

Further reports have been received of the incident in the Samar-desh-Kastoria district (referred to in a cable message on May 26th) where a desperate encounter took place between a band of Macedonians and a body of Turkish soldiery, the former being annihilated It is now denied that bombs were thrown or resistance offered. The band had retired, but a force of Bashi-Bazouka arrived on the scene and after bombarding the village slaughtered two hundred of the people, mostly women and children. It is stated that the soldiery overtook a number of fugitives and before butchering them, cut their ears and noses off. Forty Samardesh women and children were overtaken in a ravine and killed, after being subject to horrible treatment. Fifteen hundred fugitives from other villages are roaming naked and hungry in the mountains.
