Russia’s Influence in Manchuria.
Dr Mox-rison, Pekin correspondent of The Times, given many details showing that Russia is steadily securing exclusive control of Manchuria. China, while pretending to refuse the conditions asked by.M. Plancon, the Russian Charge d’Affaires, is surrendering them piecemeal, including the control of th§ Niuchwang Customs. IN KOREA. The Russians -are trying to establish a settlement at Yongampho southward of Wiju, at the head of Korea Bay, on the pretext that it is necessary in order to ship timber cut in the Pengina forests. Korea protests that these forests are not included in the timber concessions.
