Warfare In Nigeria.
Details which have been received regarding the capture of Sokoto, in Nigeria, by the forces under Colonel Morlaud, show that six thousand fanatical Eulani;*-fcrite^en. fought desperately for two hours and a half. . They showed indifference-to the fierce fire of the Maxim guns, and charged to within a few yards of the British square, despite their wounds, and died crying “ Allah.” The chiefs heroically defended mi Emir. The correspondent of the “ Standard ” states that the captured city is seven .miles in circumference, but is much inferior to Kano.
