The Balkans.
THE DISTURBANCE AT SALONIKA. Advices received here state that the pursuit of the Balonica Bulgarians was continued, and that thirty who refused to surrender were shot dead. ' Many of the bomb-throwers in the town were disguised as women and monks. ; The Times correspondent at Constantinople hears that on Tuesday the Turkish authorities were aware of the plot, but were either negligent or deliberately inactive, The Times declares that Turkish inaction was deliberately calculated, and was at least equally wicked, but more intelligent than the action of the revolutionary committees. Turkey, and not Macedonia, is the real gainer by Wednesday’s crime. [Salonica the site of the disturbances is the second Commercial city of European Turkey and stands at the head of the Gulf of Salonica. Salonica is the ancient Thesaalonica to whose Christian community St. Paul addressed two epistles.]
