King Edward.
King Edward has arrived at Malta.
His Majesty was welcomed with immense enthusiasm.
The forts and warships saluted and the churches rang joy-bells.
In replying to an address of welcome, his Majesty stated that his early visit since becoming King was due to his great personal interest in the beautiful historic island—one of bis most cherished possessions In the evening the men-o’-war in the harbour and the King’s yacht was superbly illuminated. King Edward reviewed eight thousand troops at Malta. The fuDofyon was a brilliant one, hut had to be curtailed, in consequence of a sandstorm. An army and navy polo match was held in the afternoon. The King is to attend a review at Vincennes on the morning on May 2nd, and a special race meeting at Longchamps on the afternoon of the same day.
