Foxton Borough Council.

The ordinary monthly meeting of the Council Was .held on Tuesday night at 7.30 o’clock. Present—His worship the Mayor (Cr. P. J. Hennessy), and Ors. Speirs, Gower, Symons Westwood, Simpson and Baker. Proposed by Or. Baker, seconded by Gr Gower, That the Borough Cart contractor (H. Coley), be instructed to supply three, carts as per specifications for- carting metal from river bank until further notice, or the Council will obtain such at cost of contractor iu accordance with such specification. Carried. Proposed by Cr. Simpson, seconded by Cr. Speirs, That fresh tenders be called for metal carting contract, and such contract be advertised, in Rangitikei Advocate and Manawatu Standard. Tenders to be in by the 27th inst. Carried. Proposed by Or Simpson, seconded by Or Speirs, That the Mayor be empowered to arrange with District Engineer as to quantity of gravel required by Foxton Borough Council. Carried.

Proposed by Cr Gower, seconded by Cr Baker, That the reports as read be adopted, and the accounts b passed for payment. Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded by Cr Westwood, That tenders be called for lease of Ferry house and reserve for a term of five years, successful tenderer to be appointed poundkeeper. Carried. The Council then adjourned.
