Advices received from Nish state that a number of Albanians attacked Okhrida and massacred Christians. The Times Scfia correspondent declares that the Macedonians and Bulgarians are completely out of hand, and that no foreign influence would avail to arrest the revolution. The Albi.ins are determined to recover their ancient privileges. Russian Hi)mi Pasha, InspectorGeneral of the three vilayets of Monaslir, Kossovo and Salonica, has expressed himself as being convinced of the inefficiency of the reforms, and he suspects that Austria and Russia share bis conclusions and consider the suggested reforms a makeshift lo avert immediate international complications. A hundred and ten villagers in the Okhrida district have been arrested tor harbouring revolutionaries.
The Daily Mail states that the Catholic Albanians at Darezzo have revolted owing to Turkey’s exactions. Several houses have been burned and a number of the villagers killed. A general insurrection in Skutari, on the border of Servia and Albania, and about twenty miles from the shores of the Adriatic Sea, is feared. The Sultan has reprimanded the commandant at Mitrovitz for firing on Mussulman attackers before exhausting pacific means.
