The Camp.
Everything is working to the best advantage, and the weather is beautiful and bids fair to keep so. Men, .under the superintendence of Sergt.Major Peacock, will have all the tents pitched by the evening, The water has been satisfactorily tested and all straw, firewood, &c., is on the ground, j The niounted men are .expected here at seven in the evening as they are doming by road, and as the cables have arrived here a substantial meal will be ready for them. The infantry com# by train, and are expected to disembark at the siding by the windmill at midnight. Hot tea and coffee will be waiting their arrival. The West Coast Battalion is composed of the following: — Battalion Staff. —Lieut.-Colonel Watt, Surgeon-Major Skerman, Major Huges, Captain-Adj. Intelligence Staff. Lieut.-Colonel Owen, umpite-in-chief; Captain Season, galloper; Sergeant-Major Redmond, attached; Signalling Officer, Lieutenant Palmer. Medical Staff.-Staff-Captain Purdy, P. ; Surgeon-Captain Henry, College Rifles. . Transport Staff.—Captain Turner, College Rifles, transport officer; transport sergeant, Corporal Tattle (.late Q. Tenth Contingent). Captains Cooper and Archibald, of the Garrison Artillery, have received permission from the departrrftnt to accompany the battalion lor instruction. This battalion arrives here on Saturday instead of Sunday.
