RUSSIAN RELATIONS WITH PRANCE. A semi-official statement made at St. Petersburg reiterates that Russia guarantees Macedonian reforms by pacific means alone. The “ NoVoe Yremyft ” warns M. Delcasae, French Minister for Foreign Affairs, that Russia is exclusively entitled to assume the role of protector of tile Balkans. The • newspaper advocates the increase of Russian consuls in Macedonia to explain her policy, and declares that British agents are working to persuade Macedonians that Russia desires the revolt as a pretext for intervention The writer adds that Britain wishes to goad Russia into war in order to tie her hands, so that Britain may achieve her ends in the Far East. The authorities at Sofia have seized a large quantity of arms. The Macedonians in Sofia attended a requiem service for a band of twenty-four men who were out to pieces Under two Bulgarian officers of reserve at Karbinesti, near IstitS, by Bashi-Bazouks and other troops. The cathedral Was crowded A priest eulogised the fallen men, and speakers outside the cathedral commended their example to Macedonians.
Albanian Catholics participated in the recent attack on Mibrovitza.
