Somaliland.
Major Sharp’s column of Somali mounted men and camel corps operating in Somaliland advanced as far as Damate. The column went forward in parallel lines, in skirmishing order. ' Asa result of the engagement 40 of the enemy were killed, and six captured. The column also captured a thousand camels and 2500 sheep. The British force came off scathless. The Mullah, with many of his spearsmen, is at El Haired, sixty miles south-west of Galadi Advice has been received that Galadi was occupied on Tuesday, unopposed The troops suffered from the excessive heat and scarcity of water. Most of the mounted men had to remain at Dubub owing to lack of water.
