* The hon. secretary of the above Society requests us to publish thia notice ■■—Miss Thomson, collector for the Wellington Society Tor the ' prevention of cruelty to animals', has just spent a month’s holiday in the Shannon and Foxton district, •where she did good service on behalf of the Society she represents. She has returned to Wellington very much benefited by her holiday, and quite fit for visiting subscribers in the city. She acknowledges the following subscriptions : —The Mayor of Foxton 10s 6d, George Gower and R. Walden, Moutoa, 10s each, M. H Walker, II H. Barber, A. Fraser, W. Waldenand A. Arbon, Foxton, Is. Total, £3 17s. The Society would be
pleased if the above subscribers and the public generally would report abts of cruelty to the Inspector, box 28, Wellington, and editor of this paper (Mr E. S. Thynne, J P.) No notice taken of anonymous communications, but all complaints treated confidentially.
