Venezuela
President Castro’s resignation is interpreted as intended to lead to a vote of confidence, and thus to strengthen his position. The ex-President alleges that the revolutionaries and blockadeia were in collusion and tried to oust him, but be adds that Venezuela's sovereignty has been safeguarded. The Vice-President of Venezuela is offering to influence the revolutionary commanders to end the war if Congress accepts President Castro’s abdication.
