The Anthracite Strike.

■The “New York Herald’s” version of the verdict in the anthracite coal-miners’ strike has been confirmed.

The masters are to be allowed to continue present methods of payment instead of by weight. The men obtained nine hours a day as the working day, the “ sliding scale ” principle and that of the minimum wage, but will not be allowed to limit the output except by agreement. The verdict is considered a victory for the public rather than the disputants.
