Mutoa Estate took Sale.

On Wednesday, (to-morrow) the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile, Agency Go., Ltd., in conjunction with Messrs Abraham and Williams Ltd., will hold a clearing sale of stock and implements at the Motoa estate. It will be a very important sale, and the largest yet held in this district, as the Stock numbers some 973 head of cattle and some 5600 sheep. The stock is no runholders lot but have all been acquired for the purpose of fattening, the grass of the estate being noted: for its superior qualities in this respect. Therefore the sheep and cattle are in first-class condition and must’ be a profitable investment to those who have the laud to complete the fattening commenced. We took the opportunity of visiting the estate to note the arrangements made for the sale- which appear to be complete, as was to be expected from Mr Caverhill, the Manager, who has had previous experience in such large sales. The convenience of the public have been carefully studied and the increased yardage for both sheep and cattle have been formed so that buyers are enabled to walk round outside of every yard to inspect the stock. There will be only one lot of 500 3| yr bullocks which will be held in a suitable paddock adjoining the yards, and they can then be closely inspected. They will offer a picture of grand animals in the pink of condition and a mighty tribute to the

•value of the estate soon to be disposed of by public auction

The horses -will be exhibited in the paddock in which the cattle yards are, and will be fastened to stout post and rail in, such a manner that a thorough examination of their good points can be made. The engine,, combine, and implements, drays, harness &c., will also be arranged by the horses, so that, everything will be easy to to inspect .convenient for sale.

The public have been duly considered, as coaches have been arranged for, to convey the passengers by the special train from Palmerston to the estate. A lunch will be laid out in the large granary to which visitors will be welcomed and if the day is fine an exceedingly successful sale may be predicated.
