Foxton Borough Council.

The Borough Counoil held a special meeting on Monday night when thel following business was done. I Proposed by the Mayor, seconded! by Cr Gower, That this Council acknowledge the receipt of br'*Va!sntine’s letter and state in reply that owing to the present size of the Borough the proposal to join in providing salary of inspection for joint District cannot be entertained, and further that the council has already recently gone in for Sanitary By-Laws and has a local Inspector. Carried. Proposed by Cr Westwood, seconded by Cr Symons That the Mayor consult with Mr G. Nyo with reference to the tender of Mr Alzdorf of laying off Nos. I, a and 6 lines, and that the Mayor have power to act. Carried. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded byCr Baker, That the Clerk be instructed to see that all the by-Uws of the Borough are in force and to take proceedings against any one guilty of a breach of same. Carried
