Val Vousden.
This evening Val Vousden will give one of his unique entertainments at the Public Hall, Foxton. Foreign press notices and private advices received state that Mr Yal Vbvmden is an artist at the top of hil particular branch of the profession, and is therefore worthy of a packed house. The ventriloquism is of a high order, free from that objectionable bordering on vulgarity which mars so many shows of this kind In the dialogue in the murder scene of Richard 111, Val Vouaden shows the versatile gifts of a true elocutionist, his rendering of the piece holding his audience spellbound. In Le Frannea “ Shamus O’Brien,” a contemporary states that the reciter put new meaning and depth of feeling into the piece, while his fanciful conceit of the old lady who received a letter from Mr Seddon relating his experiences at the Coronation is humorous in the extreme. Altogether the entertainment provided is a first-class one, and is well worth a visit by those who enjoy “ Two hours’ hearty laughter.”
