The “ Standard ” says that special inquiries made in Shensi confirm the report that General Tung-fu-hsiang is assembling a very large force designed to extirpate foreigners. Four thousand disbanded Imperial troops have joined him. Many secret- meetings have been held at Pekin, some officials attending to discuss whether they shall support the movement
