Wedding

WILLIAMS—WEST. The marriage .of Mr Arthur Ehodes Williams, of Te Aute, and Miss Hedevig West, of Palmerston North, was celebrated at All Saints’ Church yesterday (Wednesday). The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr L, G. West of this town, while the bridegroom is the son of the late Mr H. Williams, of the Wellington Custom House. The wedding was quifcely cele-

brated, tha guests comprising only immediate relatives and friends. Rev. C. C. Harper was tha officiating clergyman. Ihe bride, who was given away by her father, looked charming in French „ embroidered muslin, trimmed with Valencienue lace and insertion, and the usual wreath and veil. She also carried a shower bouquet. The bridesmaids were Misses Yetta West and E. Peed, and little Ray West. The two former were attired in white book muslin, and wore black Gainsborough hats, while the latter was dressed in Kate Greenaway style and wore a Dutch bonnet. Mr Douglas Williams was best man and Mr E. West groomsman. The wedding service was semichoral, and “ The Wedding Match ” was played as the happy couple proceeded down the aisle.

The bride has bean a resident of Palmerston from infancy. For some years she was engaged as teacher in various parts of the Wanganui Education District, including the Oamp-bell-street School. Latterly, however, owing to ill-health, Miss West had to resign, and has been residing in Auckland. She has many friends in Palmerston, from whom she has received numerous presents and warm wishes for her future happiness. Mr Williams is stSfcionmaster at Te Ante, but at present is relieving stationmaster at Woodville.

The happy couple left last evening for Wellington, en route to the South Island Lake District, where the honeymoon will be spent. The bride’s travelling dress was of goblin blue voille, with Paris lace and gfass lawn trimmings.—M- Times. [Miss West was at one;, time a teacher in the Foxton School.
