The ceremonies of turning on the water at the various centres were performed by Lady Forrest and the Mayesses of Coolgardie, Kalgoorlie and Boulder City, and that of turning it into the great dam by Sir John Forrest. Water is now everywhere abundant in the townships at ninepence per hundred gallons, instead of, as previously, three shillings and sixpence and upwards per hundred gallons tor condensed.
