Volunteer Easter Arrangements.

Tbs other day Captain Henderson interviewed Captain Walsh about the proceedings for Easter. Captain Walsh showed him round the district and it was arranged, subject to the approval of the higher authorities that the programme should be something as follows That the Wellington battalion should advance by Way of Levin to attack Foxtail, a nd the Wanganui battalion *U6uld be encamped to defend it. The proceedings would be that the Wellington battalion should entrain to Levin on Thursday and encamp there for the night ahd the next day proceed to Poroutawhao and encamp, sending out scouts for the attack next doy. On Saturday morning camp would be struck and the gear carted to the Foxlec racecourse, to which place they would be camped till Monday morning. The attack will probably be along the river bank as the Wanganui battalion would arrive at the raceon Thursday night or Friday morning and proceed to camp at the Wirokino bridge on Friday. Whichever party is sucoesstul will not inter* fare with the arrangement, that after the battle both battalions will march into camp and remain there till Monday * when they will entrain for Pa’merston, On Sunday both battalions will hold a review on the racecourse. These two battalions will probably comprise at least 1000 men in all, and it is probable that guns and machine guns may also be attached to both i sides. Captain Henderson thinks the country is an ideal spot for such a purpose and will strongly recommend it*
