Lucky Diggers.
Two men pegged out gro nd,. in the centre of Southern Cross township. After they had been working some time. a 3ft reef carrying an ounce of gold to the ton was struck. The patch is reported to. equal the sensational strike at the Londonderry mine in the early days of the field. Some specimens taken from the reef are fully half gold.
