Friendly Societies’ Picnic.
The Friendly Societies’ Annual gathering at Foxton on Thursday last, in spite o£ the threatening state of the weather, proved the most successful yet held. The trains which arrived from Feilding and Palmerston were crowded with passengers, and it is estimated that with the Foxton residents who attended, over aooo persons were present at the picnic during the day. Special arrangements were made this year by the committee in providing for the comfort of visitors, and their efforts were rewarded with every success.
