Writes " Victor " in the Wanganui Herald; The FeUding Athletic Club are to be congratulated on the splendid nominations they have received for their Boxing Day gathering. The entrants include many of the best runners of New Zealand, and. also throe from Australia. Sprints and long-distance races have filled equally well, and it only remains for the bandicapper (Mr Ulic Shannon) to do his work well, and favorable weather to be experienced, for the forthcoming sports to be as successful as any of this popular Club’s previous meetings. The presence of the names of A. W. Watt* and W. H. Arnott in the hurdle events is reminiscent of old times.' Ten or twelve years ago they used to figure on the. scratch mark there, and probably they will be found quite fast enough for any of the young ■uns yet. On the 9th November Arnott won a hurdle race at Napier, and Watts was second at Foxton. The former was receiving a start, while the latter ran from scratch,
