The Methodist Bazaar.
The annual gift sale and sale of work by the ladies of the Methodist Sawing Guild was opened by His Worsbip the Mayor ia the Public Hall yesterday afternoon. The various stalls were conveniently arranged, and with their drapings and decorations presented an attractive sight. There was a good attendance of the general public, and the stallholders did a brick trade during the afternoon and evening. The following ladies and gentlemen presided ever the various departments; --Refreshment Stall, Mesdames Walsh
I Simpson, Perreau and Gillanders; i tea rooms, Misses.. Harris, McEwen, Austin and Satherley; drapery stall, Mesdames Austin, Harris and Miss B. Osborne; swing and Christmas tree, the Misses Simpson; toy stall, Miss Woodcock; shooting gallery, Messrs Simpson and Walker; nail-driving, Mr Hunter. There was !a fine display of fancy work on the drapery stall. Two large dolls attracted a great deal of attention, one for the guessing competition, presented by Mrs Harris, and “ The Bride” given by Mrs Walsh, and dressed by Miss Birdie Osborne. The sale will be continued this evening, when adults will be admitted for sixpence, and children for threepence.
