Races Nos. 3 and 7 (first day), and 3 and 6 (second day), are open to all horses, the rest of the events are for hacks only. Penalties. —“ Flat Races—The winner of any flat race after declaration of weights to carry a penalty of 10!bs, and of every additional race a further penalty of 6tbs. Horses handicapped at Bst 101 b or over to carry only half the above lenaliies. “ Hurdle Races”—The winner of any hurdle race after declaration of weights to carry a penally of 101 b in the hurdle race, and for every additional race 7ibs extra. Nominations for all events, except Maiden Hack Hardies and Maiden Hack Race (first day), and Electric Hack (second day), close with the Secretary at I’oxton on MONDAY, January.6th, 1903, at 9 p.m. Weights for first day’s races will be declared on or about January 10. h, 1903. Acceptances for fird day's races close on THURSDAY, January 15fch, 1903, at 9 p.m. Entries for Maiden Hack Hurdles and Maiden Hack Race (first clay), and Electric Hack (second day), close on THURSDAY. January 15ih, 1903, at 9 p.m. ] Weights for second day’s races will be declared on Thursday, January 22nd, 1903, at Span. Acceptances close same evening at 9 30 p.m. Definition of a Hack.-A Hack means a horse that has nevqr won an advertised race exceeding 40 sovs (Hack and Hunter races excepted), and is not nominated in } any open race at the meeting, or that has not at time of enlry won a race of the value of 80 sovs, or races of (he collective value of 200 sovs since Ist August, 1899, Horses eligible for Hack Hurdles are those which have never won an open flat or Open hurdle race exceeding 40 sovs. Eveiy entry must sta - e the name, or assumed name of the owner or owners, and the name, age, pedigree and descript on of ihe horse, together with the colors of the rider. The advertised fee must in every case accompany nominations and acceptances. All races to be run under the "Rules of Racing,”
