Cricket.
There was a good attendance yesday afternoon of cricketers, but owing to some of them arriving late it was found impossible to play the match as originally intended. However, good practice was indulged in, each player on two occasions having an innings with a time limit of 7 to 10 minutes each. Some good bowling and batting form was displayed whilst more than one good gallery catch was brought off. At the conclusion of the practice the captain called the players together for a conference, the result being that until a full side rolled up practice on a Wednesday would be regularly kept and oftener after closing hours on other week days. The necessary material can be obtained from the custodian. The captain expressed an opinion that he would have no difficulty in getting a Foxten team good enough to play the adjoining country clubs, and hoped that when they were wanted he would be able to accompany ten other cricketers.}
