Presentation.
Dn Sunday evening after divine Service in the vestry of All Saints’, a very pleasing appreciation was given to the lay reader, Mr W, H. 3L Hickson, who is about to return to his old home in New South Wales, During bis residence in Foxton Mr Hickson has been an earnest, consistent, and most useful worker in all things connected with his church, taking a prominent but unostentatious part as vestryman, Sunday School teacher and superintendent, and lay reader. In the unavoidable absence of the vicar, Mr Wilson, Mr W. S. Stewart, church warden, presented to Mr Hicfeson a serviceable silver watch and chain, subscribed for by a few of his many welNwishera and admirers, and conveyed to the retiring lay reador in appropriate terms their sincere thanks and appreciation of his valuable services to the church and their good wishes for his future happiness and prosperity. Mr Hickson made a feeling and suitable reply. On our own behalf wo feel bound to add that Mr Hickson since bis com to Foxton has proved himself a good and useful oUizan, and his departure is a distinct loss to the community.
