Aramoho Artesian Wells.
AN OFFICIAL TEST OF THE PLOW.
Yesterday an official test of the flow from Mr J. T. Walker's big artesian well at Aramoho was made in the presence of a large number of interested spectators. The following memorandum speaks for itself:— Aramoho, 28rd Oct., 1802.
We, the undersigned, were present when a 400-gallon tank was twice filled from the 4-inoh pipe of Mr John Walker’s artesian well, and found that it took 62 seconds to fill the tank, thus giving at the rate of 387 gallons per minute.
John T. Stewart. W. G. Bassett. T. H. Dickson. Alexander Bennett.
It is but fair to Mr Walker to add that Mr Mestayer estimated that the two walls at Aramoho would discharge 400,000 gallons per day of 24 hours, whereas the test made yesterday gives the flow as 557,000 gallons per day, or 157,000 more from one well than Mr Meslyer estimated from the two.—Herald,
