The diversion of the flood wafers of the river Manawa.tu is now the subj ct of sarion- discussion amongst the reaid- nts of the town of Shannon. Financial arangemeats of an intensive charioter wil prebab y be made so as to enab e from 100,000 to 150,000 acres of the low-lying land botween Kercru and Longburn to bo Thoroughly drained. Tho vast importance of thO grea : work, which may well be regarded as national work, to the town and district of Shannon has only to be mentioned to be nnd- by those beat acquainted with, lire Manawatu dis'rict. As a small investment the purchase of one or more of these twenty one valuable building sections will prove of the most satisfactory character. The sections will grow in value every year and prove a capital nest-egg.
