Foxton Athletic Club.
A general meeting of the above Club was held at the Post Office Hotel last night. Mr R- Noonan occupied the chair.
Mr T. Westwood, as acting secretary reported the absence of the secretary (Mr Smith), owing to indisposition. The minutes of previous meeting were confirmed, and the correspondence read.
Three tenders were received for the right of a booth on the sports ground, but it was resolved that the tenders be held over for the committee to deal with at :next meeting, to be held at Foxton Family Hotel on Friday evening next. It was reported that the trophies are now on view in Palmerston North. They have also been shown in Feilding. The necessity of forming a Ground Committee was diseased, and the matter was left to the secretary to arrange. It was reported that a special train would run from near Bulls on day of sports. Messrs W. Cook and E. E. Smith were sleeted a committee to arrange for the annual concert and entertainment in connection with sports. Votes of thanks to the chairman, and to Mr Gray for use of room concluded the meeting.
