A vast improvement is about to be effected in connection wiih the roads of the district leading to and from the town of Shannon. A bridge is about to be erected at the Shannon berry—an i i mense boon to the Foxton residents. These changes alone wi 1, within twelve montbs, increase the passenger . traffic fu ly one hundred per cent. The diversion of the flood wafers of the river Manawatu is now 'he subj cl of seri ou* discussion amongst the resid nts of the town of Shannon. The'vast importance of this great work, which may well be re gnrded as national work, to the town and district of Shannon has only to be mentioned to be und r t-od by those best acquainted with ;he Manawatu dis riot.
