The Manawatu Electorate.
In another column Mr Job Vibannounces his intention of contesting this Electorate on Independent lines. It is impossible for n* to enlighten our readers more at present except to say that Mr Vile occupies land at the end of the Tramway near Sanson, and is therefore a local man. He intends very shortly to address the electors when all will be placed in full possession of his views and aims We must congratulate the electors on getting a gentleman to contest the seat against the present member, not that we are opposed to him, but an election does a lot of good in getting a thorough explanation upon matters which might not be touched upon, and it, enables both sides of a question to be ventilated. Mr Yile may be assured of a fair field and pleasant welcome however the votes may be. The Good Templars have also cause to rejoice as a contest means an election, and an election means a Local Option Poll.
