Volunteer Notes.
The following members are picked to represent the Poxton Rifles in their shooting match with the Shannon Rifle Club, which is to take place on the local range on Wednesday next: —Lieut. Jonson, Sergt. Mitchell, Corp. Rand, Bug., Newth, Privates C. Collins, Clark, C. Morgan. Emergency—T. Betty. ; After parade on Thursday evening last a competition was held with the Morris tubes, when Private Clark won with a possible. The corps has sustained a severe loss owing to Lieut. Baker having had to resign his position of first lieutenant owing to heart trouble.
