Foxton Cricket Club.

A general meeting of the Foxton ■Cricket Club was held on Tuesday evening in All' Saints* schoolroom. The Rov. Herbert P. Wilson; B;A. f presided. The meeting,- although not large, was fully representative of toe town and country cricketers. After careful and anxious consideration it was unanimously'Xe- ■ solved that the Club, which all l -last season was taking inglorious : rest, should be .resuscitated. f - The following officers ware then duly elected: —President, - His Worship the Mayor, Mr P. Honnensy; Vice-Presidents, Dr Bennett, the Rev. Mr Wilson, Messrs Caverhill, Fraser, Gray, Haywood, |nd J. Symons ;. Secretary and Treasurer, Mr W. S. Stewart; Committee, Messrs Betty, Bullard, Bowe, Levett, Martin, Nye, and Reads; Captain, Mr L. E. Reads; Vice-Captain. Mr W. Nye. The Captain and Vice* Captain were appointed' a match Committee.

The annual subscription of members was fixed at ss; colts, 2s 6d; and it was agreed that the opening match of the season be played 1 on Wednesday, October 22nd* detaile (which will be duly notified in this paper) to be left in the bands of the Committee. Trophies for the tftst bowling and batting averages daring the coming season were kindly 'promised by gentlemen present, and others for the highest individual score in any one innings of ift challenge match, the greatest “ catches,” the best all-round player, ' Ac., will doubtless be forthcoming. Votes of thanks were passed to the « outgoing committee, to the secretary, and to the Vicar for the use of the schoolroom. The meeting closed with the usual courtesies to the chair.
