Banana Trust Probable.

One of the probabilities of the; near future is a banana combine. The United Pruit Company of America, a concern with a capital of twenty million dollars, owning a fleet of 70 ships, and sending fruit to all parts of the United-States east coast, is stated to have made proposals to the British fruit lines carrying cargoes from Jamaica and . the Canaries. One day 30,000 bunches, or over four million bananas, were landed at Manchester, and the Elder-Dempster vessels land at Bristol 40,000 bunches a month. Two directors of the American company are now in London conferring with Messrs Elder and Tyffes. It is said that if the Anglo-American combine becomes an accomplished fact it will make no difference in the price of bananas, which depends entirely upon the demand.
