THE SINKmOOF THE REBEL GUNBOAT. The Germans are delighted at the prompt punishment of the Haytian rebel gunboat, Crete a Pierrot, which" was sunk by the German cruiser Panther for having seized a German steamer and confiscated the arms , and ammunition found on board. The “Berlin Post" says the incident is a lesson to the revolutionists and to the ephemeral Governments in Central America that they must not dare to interfere, with international trade. There is; little, criticism in the United States over the Greta a Pierrot incident, except that it was a matter in which Germany bad better have used the birch than the club. The Washington officials consider that the Monroe Doctrine has not bean violated, inasmuch as there has been no territorial aggression.
