Foxton Lawn Tennis Club.
The annual meeting of tilris Club 1 was held in the Public Hall on Thursday evening, and was well attended by members old and new. The chair was occupied, by His Worship the Mayor, and under the' ‘ skilful guidance of that eminently*practical gentleman a large amount' of business was transacted in record -’’j time. ■ ■ ' '■ The report and balance-sheet, '' duly audited, were read by the sec- '' ; retary, and unanimously adopted as'’-" s read. , The following were then duly > elected officers of the Club coming season;—President, Dr. 1 Bennett ; Yice-presidents, Messrs. £|, Caverhill, Fraser, Haywood, Thyxmo, and Westwood, Mesdames W. Ro-;' binson and Fraser, and Misses lins, Hamer, Laing and Wanklyn. /\\ The subscription 'for the season was fixed n$ follows-Gen-,. h tlemen, £1; ladies* 7s 6d; country members—Gentlemen, 10s; ladiej£ w ; £ ss. It was agreed that Wednesday; 'H September 3rd, be the opetoibg of the season, weather permitting, , ?' and that play commence at'!2.S6l Tfc ■ j' is anticipated that there will .be/ft"’ ; large attendance of members and" '/,; their friends, and afternoon tea has , || been kindly promised by Mrs Fraser, ,‘i!)
