A large and influential meeting of the business people of Foxton was-held in Mr Heunessy’s long room this morning to consider proposed alterations in Kailway time-table between Palmer* 3 ston and Foxton. ... His Worship the Mayor was in the ' chair. Mr Woods, of the Railway Da* . partmeut, was also present* by' requeiit.; of the Mayor. V’ The following resolutions wpre pro* posed and carried;— Proposed by M r Alf. Fraser, seconded by Mr J. Overand, That the basinet* -/*' people of Foxton strongly >r protest against: any alteration in present time* table. „ Proposed by Mr Reade, secondedw Mr Spring, That a copy of above resolution be forwarded to the tioßi the Minister of Railways. Proposed by the Mayor, seconded- - by Mr Tozer, That a vote-of thanks be accorded to Mr Woods for hi*j attend* ance atthe; meeting. r : ' Proposed by Mr 4- C.’Baker, sec* onded by Mr Stiles, s That a vote of thanks be accorded to Mayor; for con* vening and presiding at meeting and the use of the room. .. _ , Mr Alf.
