New Zealand Products.

The following ia taken from the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company’s London produce circular of the 11th July : Wool—The fourth series of London wool sales opened on the Bth inst., the net available quantity, including 18,000 bales held over, aggregating 217,500 bales. There was a large attendance of buyers from all parts, competition generally being brisk, and save as regards coarse qualities of crossbred, .which ruled about per lb easier. May auctions’ closing rates were well maintained, and in some instances exceeded. The improvement is most pronounced in the case of fine crossbred and medium qualities of merino, which, on an

average, may be quoted about 5 per cent higher, while shabby, wasty, pd coarse crossbred show most depreciation. Tallow.—-There has been a fair demand for medium and inferior qualities, particularly gut fat, during the past three Weeks, bat finer descriptions and ordinary sorts of mutton have been and continue to be neglected. The stock at the end of last month showed an increase of 5000 casks, while the shipments, though relatively moderate, weire considerably in excess of those daring the same period last year* There is a fairly steady feeling at the close, present. quotations being—good to finest mutton 84s to 88s, fair 81s 6d to 82s 6d, and fair to good beef 31s to 82s, edible sorts 84s to 35s per cwt.

Frozen Meat.—-The demand for frozen mutton has shown no improvement during the past three weeks, and values in consequence have a weaker tendency, although stocks are not very heavy. Prime Canterbury is worth from 2s 6d to 2s Bd, Dunedin and Southland 2s 4d to 2s 6d, North Island 2s 8d to 2s 4d, and Australian 2s Id to 2s 2d per stone. Owing to the large available supplies of lamb and pressure to sell on the part of holders, prices have fallen considerably since the date of our last report, prime Canterbury being to-day worth from 2a 9d to 2s lid, Dunedin and Southland 2a 8d to 2s 9d, North Island 2a 7d to 2s 8d per stone. There are no Australians offering. Beef marks a further Improvement, especially as regards hindquarters, which have advanced 2d to 4d a stone in the last few days, while fore-quarters meet a poor stile. Prime New Zealand hinds realise from 8s 6d to 3s 7d, fores 2s to 2s Id, River Plate hinds 8$ 5d to 3s dd and fores 2s per stone ex market. There is no Australian beef available.
