Tied Houses.
The Hon. Mr Bigg has introduced « Bill into the Legislative Council under, the above heading, the three principal clauses being that— It shall not be lawful for any brewer to be the owner of any Ifcanaad premises, and from and after the first day of January, one thousand nine hundred and four, all instruments of title purporting to test any licensed premises in any brewer for any estate or interest shall be deemed to be null and void, and registration of every such instrument shall be cancelled. It shall not be lawful for any brewer or spirit-merchant to advance ■ money to any licensed person, and no aetion shall lie in any Court for the recovery of money so lent.
