Perfecting Ordnance.
The United States Ordnance Dapactment has constructed a time-fuse whereby a shell from a 12-inoh gun penetrated fourteen iiiches of Krupp armour before detonation. t This result is due to a new high explosive, of diminutive quantity, but exceedingly powerful. • The invention is considered the ■ greatest achievement since the Krupp process of hardening armour was perfected. __ 1 t
