Railway Accidents.

The Oamaru-Palmerston train last evening met with a slight mishap after leaving Shag Point, by which several waggons were derailed and two passenger carriages partially so. The guard managed to uncouple the front portion, [and the enginedriver pulled up about a mile further on. No damage was done worth speaking of. Messrs Coon and Beattie have held an inquiry, and found that it was due to the crosspin of the buffer of one of the waggons breaking. The loose buffer hook levered one of the waggons off the line and this caused the others to follow. The same gentlemen have found that a slight accident on the same part of the line, on Saturday, was caused by a broken waggon spring.
