A Clever Swindle.

The latest clever swindle on the Continent consists of turning 10 Bank of England notes into n by a little manipulation. The method shows infinite ingenuity. Each of the 10 banknotes is cut into 10 pieces; these are pieced together on a transparent paper, and to each of the patched notes a false scrap is added to replaoo the piece taken to made up the eleventh. It was only when the different numbers of the notes were carefully examined at the Bank that the fraud was discovered.
